Who we are
EMI Plus Care ("we", "us") provides extended warranty and protection plans that authorised retail partners sell to their customers. The EMI Plus Care mobile application is a tool for those retail partners — it is used to register plans, record device details, and track claims.
This policy covers the mobile application and the services reachable through it. It applies to two groups of people: the retail partners who hold an account, and the end customers whose plan details a retail partner records in the application.
Information we collect
Retailer account information
When a retail partner is onboarded, we collect the shop or business name, the contact person's name, mobile number, email address, business address, and where applicable the GST registration number. We also store the login credentials for the account.
Customer and plan information
When a retail partner registers a protection plan, the application records the customer's name, mobile number, email address where provided, and the details of the product being covered — brand, model, serial or IMEI number, invoice number, purchase date, and purchase price. Retail partners may also upload a photograph of the purchase invoice or the product.
Retail partners enter this information on behalf of their customers. Retail partners are responsible for obtaining their customer's consent before entering it.
Claim information
If a claim is raised, we collect a description of the fault, any supporting photographs or documents uploaded, and the service records associated with resolving the claim.
Transaction information
We record the plans sold, their value, and the settlement status against each retail partner's account. Card numbers and banking credentials are handled by our payment provider and are not stored by us.
Technical information
The application automatically records the device model, operating system version, application version, IP address, and diagnostic logs of errors and crashes. This is used to keep the application working and to investigate faults.
Before publishing: confirm that every item above matches what the application actually collects, and delete anything it does not. Google Play compares this page against the Data safety form in Play Console, and a mismatch is a common reason for rejection.
How we use it
- To create and administer retail partner accounts, and to authenticate logins.
- To register, validate and service protection plans.
- To process claims and coordinate repairs or replacements.
- To calculate commissions and settle accounts with retail partners.
- To contact retail partners and customers about a plan or a claim.
- To detect and prevent fraudulent registrations or claims.
- To diagnose faults, improve the application, and keep it secure.
- To meet our legal, tax and regulatory obligations.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use the information collected through this application to serve advertising.
Device permissions
The application asks for the following permissions. Each is requested at the point it is needed, and the application will continue to work with reduced functionality if a permission is declined.
Before publishing: remove any permission the application does not actually request, and add any that are missing. The list must match the permissions declared in the app manifest.
Storage and security
Information is stored on servers located in India. Traffic between the application and our servers is encrypted in transit using HTTPS. Passwords are stored in hashed form and are not readable by our staff.
Access to customer and claim records is restricted by role: a retail partner can see only the plans registered under their own account. Administrative access is limited to staff who need it to operate the service.
No system is completely secure. If a breach occurs that affects your information, we will notify affected users and the relevant authority as required under applicable law.
Retention
Plan and claim records are retained for the duration of the plan and for a further period afterwards, so that claims, disputes, warranty obligations and statutory record-keeping requirements can be handled. Retailer account records are retained while the account is active and for a period after closure for accounting and tax purposes.
Once no longer needed for these purposes, records are deleted or anonymised.
Your rights
You may ask us to:
- confirm what information we hold about you, and give you a copy of it;
- correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- delete information we no longer have a lawful reason to keep;
- withdraw a consent you previously gave, where our use relies on that consent.
Write to the address in the contact section to make a request. We will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we may decline where the law requires us to keep a record.
If you are a customer whose details were entered by a retail partner, you may contact us directly — you do not have to go through the retailer.
Deleting your account
To delete your account and the personal information associated with it, either use the delete account option inside the application under Settings, or email us at the address below from your registered email address with the subject line "Account deletion request".
We will confirm the request, delete your profile, login credentials and contact details, and remove your personal information from active systems within 30 days. Transaction and claim records that we are required to keep under tax, accounting or insurance law will be retained for the statutory period and then deleted; these records are separated from your profile and are not used to contact you.
Before publishing: this section must describe a deletion route that genuinely exists. Google Play requires an account deletion method and checks it. If in-app deletion is not built yet, remove that sentence and keep the email route only — and make sure someone is actually monitoring that mailbox.
Children
This application is a business tool for authorised retail partners and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.
Changes
We update this policy when our practices change. The effective date at the top of the page shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be notified inside the application or by email to registered retail partners before they take effect.
